Protecting the baby. This mare and foal became separated from their stallion briefly and as he was figuring out a way around an obstacle, this beautiful mare kept close to the youngster and safe from harm (us – the perceived threat). The family was reunited in no time and all was well. 🙂 (Piceance-East Douglas HMA, CO)

A beautiful Piceance mare and her foal in late afternoon light. I stayed as long as they did. That little guy never took his eyes off of me. 🙂 There is nothing better than ending a day with the wild ones like this, in a place like this. Piceance-East Douglas HMA, CO (6-2017)

Haven’t shared any wild horse photos for a bit, so here are a couple. This is “G”‘s band and the big guy himself. Piceance-East Douglas HMA, CO. (6-2017)

The sorrel in the middle is Glow and that is her new little filly, Shine. Such a cutie!

And this is “G.” Handsome fella isn’t he?

Beautiful Piceance Creek/East Douglas HMA mare and foal. Such unique coloring – I’m not sure I’ve seen her before.
