An alert mare keeps an eye on her snoozing foal. Piceance-East Douglas HMA, Colorado

And…a video of some of the horses from Piceance and some of the wildlife that shares this vast area.
Our trail cams were set up as a way to help identify horses. Angles and heights are set to help determine gender and any markings (sometimes other animals have their own ideas about positioning). The videos are made up of clips taken in all different years (beginning in 2016 through present) and all seasons. The date/time/temp information can be found at the bottom of each clip. Sharing all the horses/wildlife, conditions, etc., past and present.

Hi Pam, thank you for the update!
We are headed out to the Piceance-East Douglas HMA and also Sand Wash Basin next week on my vacation for the very first time. I know you have been photographing the horses, especially in Piceance-East Douglas HMA for a long time.
Any tips on directions or ideas on how to hopefully see them on our trip? It seems like a vast area and never having been there before, we are not sure where to even go or how to get to the right place. We have called the BLM for help, but no responses so far.
Thanks
Tim

Love the trail cam videos – so much more interesting than regular photos where the animals are aware of humans. Thanks Pam
I keep seeing the “3 amigos” at Spring Creek Basin – the 3 fillies who were moved there several months ago – doing well apparently with their very own stallion! I realize Spring Creek is a small HMA but those horses seemingly are much safer than many right now.

Thanks for letting me know you enjoy the trail cam videos. Yup, those 3 from SWB and doing well at Spring Creek Basin and TJ is doing a wonderful job (as usual) keeping everyone updated on their new adventures. 🙂
