White Mountain and Little Colorado Mustangs in Holding, 9-2011
September 18, 2011
On our way home from vacation, we stopped by the Rock Springs, WY holding facility to view the Mustangs from the recent White Mountain/Little Colorado roundup. I didn’t have the opportunity to take photos from anywhere but the public viewing area so many of the horses can’t even be seen, but I’ve posted an album of some that are available. It’s my hope that folks will share this album which may result in a home for at least one of these beautiful horses.
The link to the Facebook album is: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.2092842237525.2103286.1139356307&l=32b7abf0ab&type=1

I know it’s very tough Shelva, but now what we must do is attempt to find homes for some of these guys. Sigh.

Spring Creek Herd Roundup Updates..
Hope you can see this. Some advocates scouted the area where the horses were going to be run thr. and found barbed-wire, T-posts and other dangerous things and told the BLM about it. BLM guys were removing the wire.

Thank goodness barbed wire was noticed; hope it comes down!

What a shame they were deprived of their freedom, their right to live harmoniously on the land that is legally and morally theirs

The problem with modern humans VS ancient Native Americans.:=..selfish greed in the form of fences. I was checking out some of the herd days before the “roundup”.
Its ok for humans to propagate unchecked, but not wild animals…Modern idiot logic.

Looked at the pictures you posted on Facebook – there are so many beautiful colorful horses & foals. Strikes me that there are quite a few thin, probably older mares – but the babies mostly look darn good. Good moms!
Read that Sheldon Wildlife refuge wants to get rid of their “feral horses” – horses that have been there for probably over 100 years – but feral…
Read Sue W’s rant & rave the other day! And people actually listen & believe her??
Keep taking those great pictures, Pam
