Just a little taste? Pryor Mountain HMA (Montana) foals exhibit primitive coloring and distinctive leg barring which are some of the unique characteristics of this particular herd.

Love the little foals playing with each other, doing that “jawing” thing they do! My first love was a mustang, Navajo. He was a dun with a dorsal stripe and zebra stripes on his legs in the early summer. He taught me so much about horses in general and riding him bareback for several years as a child really centered my riding and balance. Sometimes I think he even compensated to get better under me so I wouldn’t slip off! One great little horse and the beginning of my horse crazy life that is into it’s 59th season. Keep sharing those beautiful photos you shoot and we’ll keep enjoying them (-K

This is also seen in QHs, the barring and bloody markings, lots of duns buckskins and grullas, not sure how all this relates to the spanish gene
