Photo Of The Week – 10/5/2010

October 6, 2010

Beautiful, free wild horses…(Salt Wells HMA, September, 2010)

The BLM roundup of the Salt Wells and Adobe Town HMA’s begins this week:

The hardest part of photographing and getting to know these horses is losing them to the roundups that are so unnecessary and cruel. It’s heartbreaking. There’s a better way to manage the wild ones and until that’s studied and implemented, it’s imperative that there be a moratorium on any further roundups. Please keep calling and writing on behalf of our wild horses…and thanks to all of you that continue to do so.

Oh Pam, I call & call. These really need to stop. Everytime I look at the horses I get welled up, just knowing they are being rounded up all over the west.

  2. D.D. Says:

    Soooooo gorgeous thanks Pam!

  3. Anne-Marie Says:

We truly MUST DEMAND, that the BLM tell us, what is going to happen with the 40 000 + horses in captivity……if they did not have enough money to feed them 2 years ago, when there was 12000 less, then what are they going to do now????! WE HAVE A RIGHT TO KNOW IF THEY HAVE A PLAN OR NOT? If they don’t have a plan or funds to support the Mustangs, then they MUST STOP rounding them up!!!

  4. Terri Paxton Says:

They are running away from us. I hope they aren’t running into oblivion. What does it take, what leverage do we need to FORCE these people to stop
? Obviously good moral conscience isn’t going to do it. Apparently they don’t have one!
