WHAT A BEAUTIFUL PICTURE. A PICTURE CAN EXPRESS MORE THAN WORDS CAN EVER SAY. THEIR GRACE, BEAUTY, AND SPIRIT IS SHOWN IN THEIR ELEGENT STANCE. THEY ARE SO INTELLIGENT MAYBE MORE THAN US AND SOME OF US TREAT THEM LIKE THEY ARE NOTHING.

  4. Little Brother Says:

Very cute. But, can’t say much for their neighborhood. Rock Springs? Yuck. 🙂

  5. Margaret Says:

Isn’t this the same HMA that the BLM is going to rape again? I think you told me that Salt Wells is not an HMA I should do on my own since the roads are not marked. There is that other marked HMA out of Rock Springs–I’m thinking of doing that HMA in addition to the Pryors.

Unbelievable. In a couple of generations, this type of photo will be so rare — like my mother in laws photos from her childhood on the Rosebud and Pine Ridge reservations — snapshots of Indians living in teepees and riding horses.

    How quickly they are disappearing.

    Well said Shirley – thanks.

I’d love to see a picture of your Mustang Karen.

Chris – this was actually quite a beautiful area. Lots of meadows (including some pines and aspens!), creeks and other critters. It was south of Rock Springs in a hilly area. Really nice.

Margaret – I think I was led to believe something that wasn’t true about this area. Sure, you have to leave if it rains, (clay) but the roads were just fine.

Janet – I hate to even think about that. 😦

  8. Janet Ferguson Says:

This is a truly beautiful photograph. May more of the general public become aware of our wonderful wild herds!

Thank you for bringing special beauty into our lives.
