What really grabs me is this: Stallion and Mare get together and some 11 1/2 months later–voila a real live baby horse! Isn’t mother nature incredible! I mean this little guy has an itch and knows how to scracth it! Not sure that anyone told him how–they just do this. Pretty quick after being born they know how to find mom’s milk.
This little guy once again proves to me how wrong it is to take these beautiful animals from the wilds and lock them up for no reason other than being born. The BLM breaks up these families like it was nothing to them.
Hi Marilyn – yes, Issaquah is still with his family. We saw him while we were at the Pryor’s for the roundup. If you go to the link below, he’s the “yearling colt” just under Seattle’s photo.
